Two Virtual Earth Day Contests

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. To celebrate, the City of Sarasota Parks & Recreation District is hosting two Virtual Earth Day Contests! Check out the creative contests below that encourage children and families at home to participate.

EARTH DAY POSTER CONTEST
Get creative and design your own Earth Day Poster for a chance to win a Fun Basket!

RULES TO ENTER:

  • Children ages 14 & under are invited to participate.
  • Create a poster representing Earth Day.
  • Poster size should be 22" x 28". Taping or gluing multiple pages together to achieve this poster size is ok.
  • Submit a picture of your poster in the comment section of the “Earth Day Poster Contest” Facebook post no later than 10 PM on April 21 to be entered to win a fun prize basket.

RECYCLED SCULPTURE CONTEST

Ready, start, build! Design your own sculpture out of recycled materials for a chance to win a Fun Basket!

RULES TO ENTER:

  • Choose your category: Family Sculpture or 14 & Under Sculpture
  • Create a sculpture out of only recycled materials. You may use glue, tape, paint or glitter to decorate.
  • Post a picture of your masterpiece in the comment section of the “Recycled Sculpture Contest” post on the City of Sarasota Parks & District Facebook Page no later than 10 PM on April 21. Don’t forget to include the category you are entering as well (Family or 14 & Under).

SPECIAL GUESTS
The City of Sarasota Sustainability Department will be joining the Parks & Recreation District with choosing winners for each contest!
