Matt McLean is a teaching professional who’s has spent a lifetime around the game both playing and coaching. Matt began his teaching career in 2007 after graduating from Wake Forest University where he played for one of top college programs in the country.
With extensive experience across prestigious clubs Matt has served as Director of Instruction at Oakmont Country Club, The Concession Golf Club, and Fishers Island Club for 12 years. He is a “Lead Master instructor” for the Jim McLean golf schools and has earned recognition as one of Golf Digests “Best Young Instructors” for ten years straight as well as being voted by his peers 9th among New York’s ‘Best Teachers in Your State.’ Matt’s expertise spans teaching golfers of all levels, from beginners to PGA tour players. His holistic approach to the game and ability to break down concepts into easily digestible elements helps students leave lessons with a clear mind and a strategic plan for implementing changes.

Our Lead Golf Instructor at Bobby Jones Golf Club is Tyler Beasley.
Golf is my passion, and coaching is my calling. As a PGA Associate and Certified Personal Golf Coach, I’ve had the privilege of teaching over 10,000 lessons, working with golfers of all ages and skill levels. My journey in golf includes being a former World Long Drive professional (2013-2016), where I achieved a personal best of 460 yards in competition. After my competitive career, I shifted my focus to coaching and caddying at the pro level, where I continue to grow my knowledge and skills.
I specialize in helping golfers gain distance, correct swing flaws, and refine their short game. With an Associate’s Degree in Golf Complex Operations from the Golf Academy of America, I’ve had the opportunity to coach at renowned places like GOLFTEC and The Sea Pines Resort, where I led private lessons and junior/adult programs.
Whether you’re looking to add yards to your drive or shave strokes off your score, I’m here to help you play your best golf!

We are thrilled to welcome Harrison Wierse to our professional instruction team.
Originally from Wilmington, North Carolina, Harrison discovered his passion for golf at an early age and has dedicated himself to the game ever since. A graduate of Barton College, Harrison enjoyed an accomplished collegiate career, earning numerous accolades both on and off the course. He was recognized as three-time Academic All America, named to the PING All-Region Team, and honored as the 2023 Conference Player of the Year as well as Male Athlete of the Year.
Continuing to purse excellence beyond college, Harrison is currently competing professionally in Florida, qualifying for the Korn Ferry Tour. His competitive experience, academic discipline and deep understanding of the game make him a valuable addition to our instruction team.
