Opening to the Public on Saturday, December 16, 2023, The Championship Course is sure to become a favorite of locals and visitors alike. Take a peak at the dimensions and routing of the restored Championship Course.

Which tees will you choose to play from?

Opening in May 2024, our 9-Hole Par 3 Course will have every one talking! This innovative track allows for multiple Layouts with each hole measuring from 75 yards up to 188 yards. Other Features Include:

• On-site restroom facilities
• Hydration Station 
• Dedicated Practice Putting Green
• Exciting golf for ages & skill levels
• Easily Walkable for all ages 

Named after John Hamilton Gillespie Course (Gillespie Course for short), Sarasota’s first Mayor. He arguably introduced golf to the United States in the late 1800s.

City of Sarasota Residents are now eligible to receive a discount on golf, as well as the ability to book 14 days in advance. To receive this discount, each City of Sarasota resident must fill out the verification form below and submit it along with the requested documents via email, or traditional mail (see form for additional information).

Originally Designed by Donald Ross in 1926, Richard Mandell Golf Architecture was selected to renovate Bobby Jones Golf Club to open in 2023.

Richard's work has been nationally recognized for his Creekside Golf & Country Club in Atlanta, Georgia with a nomination for Best New Course in both Golf Digest Magazine and Georgia Golf News. His expansion of Seaford Golf & Country Club won the 1996 DuPont North America Safety, Health, and Environmental Excellence Award.
